Okay I have so many things going on I have to lock down my current router is NOT cutting it because I am using the supplied one from the cable company that has nothing really.
Here is the laundry list of things our family has. Of course its both wireless and wired with a majority of it all wired.
3 cell phones
4 tablets
1 Xbox One
3 Laptops
3 WDTV Live
2 Smart TVs
4 PCs
1 PS3
1 Wii
1 NAS
I have a 13 year old and a 9 year old that I need to severely lock down from what they have access to.
Here is what I am needing the device to do.
Not allow ANY of their devices 2 tablets, 1 pc, 1 laptop, Xbox one, PS3, Wii to be used after a specific time of day and not used before a specific time of day but still allow our devices.
Allow to block some sites from ALL devices.
Have it disable streaming from a NAS to WD TV lives after a specific time (but still keep both devices on the network and accessible)
What I am dreaming it could do -
Have some kind of user login interface that will then allow them to use only for a certain amount of earned time and then kick off.
Have some kind of allowance to disable devices based on total traffic after a specific active time. E.G. We can set to 1 hour Xbox use and allow any time between 5pm and 8pm usage.
As you can see its kind of daunting. I looked over a bunch of routers but am not seeing any that fall in line with advanced parental controls. I really don't want to have to rely on a dual layered thing because its just more administration on my part (e.g. a decent router that does some of these and a net nanny type program on the devices itself). Please let me know if you know of anything out there that really is a GREAT parental control router type device that is a single point of administration and deals with multiple users, multiple devices, multiple types of devices, and multiple time requirements.
