I work in a plant that has two networks, both of them 192.168.0.xx. One of them is for office computers, printers, internet, etc.
The other network is for automation equipment such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, etc. Each network uses a switch and the two switches are in close proximity to each other but not connected together in any way.
Is there an easy way to access the automation network through the office network?
We have no onsite IT support, however sometimes I perform this function under the direction of a third party IT support engineer. He says to run a cat5 cable to the location where I need access to the "other" network, which I will probably end up doing. I just want to know if there is an easier way to do this.
