Internet connection issues.

I'll start off by saying I don't know much about computers so forgive my ignorance when it comes to things like this.

I've been having trouble with my computer for the past two days. My internet was working just fine when all of a sudden it stopped working. This has happened to me before in the past. I'd say about 6 months ago. I called my ISP and they said everything was working fine, and the problem had to be coming from my side. I switched out the cables and that hadn't fixed it, after searching the internet for a countless amount of time I can to the conclusion that I had to reset my computer to a later date. I did so and everything ended up working just fine. However this time, that doesn't seem to be working.

My computer works both on WiFi, and the Local Area Connection. As of this moment I'm on the WiFi which isn't the greatest thing as it's not that fast. I went into the adapter settings and checked the status of the WiFi and it's sending/receiving packets just fine. However the Local Area Connection is sending packets in the 100~1000 range, and it isn't receiving and packets at all. and I think that's where the problem lies(sorry if this is incorrect). Also one other weird thing is that under where it says "Local Area Connection" it says "Unidentified Network" I swear just a week ago it said "Connected"

Is it trying to connect to my internet but is unable to, and so it's connecting to something else?
I'd really appreciate any help I can get ASAP.

If you need me to post any screen shots just ask.

P.S. All other devices work just fine in my mouse, i,e tablets, laptops, ipods, phones.
