Intel Wifi not working, ethernet does. All other phones and PC wireless works

Hi There,
I recently moved house and got Virgin internet with a new router/modem. I have an oldish laptop whose wireless has always worked. Since setting everything up with the new router the wireless doesn't work. When plugging in the ethernet cable everything is fine. I know it isn't the router as I have a mac and a bunch of iphones and ipads hooked up. I have googled this to death and updated all the drivers of the laptop, restarted the wifi card, updated everything I could on this laptop and I still can't figure out why the wifi wont connect. I hope that you can help. Details are below:
