I am using a Windows Vista for my desktop and have no problem accessing internet, and the lower right hand corner always shows "Access Local and Internet" when it's working properly and well.
I just got a Macbook and turned it on. I was asked to set up the wi-fi networking by choosing the network name and typing in the PASSWORD. I tried different passwords, including the wireless network key (wireless password) that I had to type in upon first time setup. However, none of them was correct. I remember that I had trouble typing in the correct network name and password, because I was instructed to type in the network name and key on the Wireless Gateway device. When I called the internet provider, they for some reason asked me to type in different name and password, if I remember correctly.
So, now I couldn't get the correct password for it. When I searched online to retrieve networking password and followed instructions to look at Network Connections' status, I found that my broadband was disconnected, while local area connection is on. I am so confused now. Why is my broadband disconnected while I am still able to use internet and local network. I can still use the wi-fi for my Windows OS laptop. It IS connected, and it's networking, but why the broadband is shown disconnected, or I am confused with the TERMINOLOGY?
Anyhow, would you please teach me where my network password is stored. When I tried to connect the broadband connection, I typed in the wrong password, so I cannot even view the Security tab which contains the password.
Thanks
