Confused by the Network

I am using NETGEAR genie; an application that I just recently discovered.

The genie shows that I have seven connections to my router. I am able to identify and confirm all but two. The two that I cannot identify are labeled only with IP addresses (192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3).

If I ping these addresses, I get a return from one of them and the other times out.

192.168.0.2 is ONLINE and has a MAC address of CC:95:D7:43:E3:BC.

192.168.0.3 is OFFLINE and has a MAC address of CC:95:C7:69:12:93. This IP occasionally changes from OFF LINE to ONLINE with no apparent action on my part.

My greatest concern is for security. Not knowing who might be connected to my router is unsettling.

Can anyone explain in lay terms just what I am dealing with. Hopefully it is just my ignorance of the network and how it works.

Thanks in advance for your indulgence.
