I'm a bit curious about a discrepancy between results from speedtest.net and what my computer says is my internet speed. I'm not necessarily looking for technical help unless the problem is fixable, just curious about what causes it.
My internet doesn't seem exceedingly slow, but when I open the properties window for my connection, I see around 50 mbps as my internet speed. However, when I run a speed test through my browser, my download speed is around 10 mbps and upload speed is around 5 mbps. Is this normal to have this kind of discrepancy? If so, what causes it?
I'm running Windows 7 on an HP laptop with a Motorola SBG5680 modem/router combo.
