Win 7, 64bit routers

I'm clueless when it comes to router.

I have a Linksys Valet M20 router that I just found out is not compatible with 64bit Win 7. Need some help to select a similar router. All I want is a router to connect DirectTV to my computer. I want to wire the router to my computer.

I used the M20 router previously to connect Netflix with cable and for internet access wirelessly for a smartphone. Need something similar.

I know this is probably pretty basic, but I'm lost. Thanks for any forthcoming recommendations.
