This computer, running Windows 7 Pro, is supposed to be in a home group with another computer running Windows Basic, using Ethernet linkages through an Amped wireless router. (The same problem existed with a wired router.) This computer has no difficulty using the other computer's printer but can't seem to access the files. Both computers use Norton 360 and disabling the firewalls doesn't help. Network diagnostics from the other computer says that this computer is configured properly but can't communicate. Both computers and the router show on the network map.
Both computers have a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. The primary Auto IP address on this one is 192.168.3.100/24. The address on the other is 192.168.3.102/24.
Ethernet works fine in both computers as does WiFi on my tablet. What other things should I check?
