Network Cable Unplugged since I reformatted my H. D.
I am using a Dell Inspiron B130 laptop running XP. My desktop running 8.1 OS is working fine. Since I reformatted the hard drive in the laptop I can not get back on to the network. I am connected to cable TV using their modem and my Netgear N300 Wireless Router. In the dialog box in Network Connections it states
under Internet Gateway that the Internet Connection is connected, and under LAN or High Speed Internet Wireless Connection connected, and Local Area Connection network cable unplugged. The cable is not unplugged. And furthermore everything worked fine before I erased my laptop hard drive. I am using a Broadcom 440X 10/100 Integrated Controller. I tried creating a new connection, still cannot get onto the internet. I have temporarily turned off the firewall. I have tried just about everything. I need help. Thank you.
