To connect to the internet provided by our college, one has to first connect the device either via Ethernet cable or WiFi
Then go to the internet login portal (local) from a web browser and enter the Username and password provided by college.
If correct, then one gets access to internet.
Local Network is accessible even if not logged in.
No change in proxy setting is required for it to work
Edit:After logging in from the browser, all the other apps/softwares can also access the internet.
The location of logging in(inside the campus) is also recorded
What type of internet connection is this?
How does this work?
P.S.: P2P network, most of the gaming and porn sites are blocked.
Also, i do not understand the network settings in windows like tcp/ip4(subnet etc.), proxy, VPN and HTTP etc...:confused::confused:
Can anyone please recommend a source for reading about this and understand it properly
(I am a college student and know more than average science/maths)
