Okay. I'm looking into going from DSL to cable for Internet. I have always had DSL so I am not sure what to expect with cable.
Charter is asking a $40 fee for "activating" wireless. Normally, I don't order wireless from my providers and just hook up my own router.
Am I missing something? Is this just a scam to get non tech people to pay more money to hook up a router? Or does Charter have a special modem/router that must be used, hence the fee?
They also charge a $5/month wifi fee.
I don't want to say no to the wifi and try using my own router only to find out it doesn't work.
Does anyone have experience with this?
