Hello
My house is built of reinforced concrete so the wifi signal struggles to get very far.:(
I currently have two access points - the one with the modem upstairs and a second one (A Cisco/Linksys 3000) on the ground floor linked by an ethernet cable. The upstairs modem/router hands out the IP addresses and both have different SSID. This works fine - no problems.
Can I extend this again by adding a third access point plugging an ethernet cable into the downstairs access point? Or would the "middle switch" need to be clever to do this.
If I can do this what IP address do I give to the new access point?
I cant add another access point to the upstairs one as it is a proprietary WIFIMAX modem with only a single LAN port and everything to do with the connection is loaded in firmware.
Many thanks in advance.
