My Pace 4111n just put a device in DMZPlus mode, what does that mean?

Ok....so I've been having issues with my WiFi connection for a couple of weeks now, suffice it to say that after MANY trials and tribulations, we finally managed to get it to work.

Or so I thought. :(

While all was well yesterday after some tinkering and a new setup (for SEVERAL hours, I'd like to add), this evening, when I switched my laptop on, I was having the same sort of issue I was having with my WiFi connection before (network icon showing that there was a signal present, but no access to the internet). This time, however, there was a twist....rather than leave me in the dark as to what the issue was, when I opened my browser, I was directed automatically to my Pace 4111n gateway page with a message stating "router behind router detected."

While on that page, the Pace basically insisted I put a device I have in my network in DMZPlus mode, otherwise things would not work correctly (this is more or less what the page was dictating, in lame man's terms anyway). Since pretty much every "tech support" person I have been talking to has more or less overcomplicated their explanations of what my WiFi problems have been, and have made passing mentions of me having to do something to my devices along those lines, I basically went ahead and followed directions and went through with it.

Now I have a device in my network in DMZPlus mode...and I have NO idea what that means or what I have just done.

On the plus side though, my WiFi seems to be working again...so I can't complain too much there, but now I'm wondering if what I was just basically forced to do by my Pace 4111n is in any way jeopardizing my privacy or WiFi security.

Can someone please explain (with as little overcomplicated "tech speak" as possible) what is going on with my WiFi and devices now?
If anyone is curious about my current device set up that's giving me this dilemma, this is basically it:

Pace 4111n===>Grandstream HT502===>Netgear N300 Router

I'm pretty sure the device now set in DMZPlus mode is the Grandstream (it comes up as an unknown device in the Pace's Gateway page, but its the only one that fits the connection description that the Gateway page gives). Will this affect my internet speed, privacy, or devices in any negative way? I'd honestly really appreciate an answer...

Thanks ahead of time to anyone that can offer some clues as to what is going.
