Understanding PPoE networking

I have a new DSL Internet service provider. They use PPoE which requires a user ID and password. I want to add ethernet switch after the DSL PPoE router. Does this require a unique ethernet switch? Does the switch need a user ID and password? If I add a network printer after the switch will I have to enter a user ID and password on the printer for network access?
Apologizing in advance, these are simple networking questions but I've never had to deal with PPoE. Thank you for your help!
