Using a Zoom X6 as a Repeater

Hello. We have recently had fibre-optic broadband installed however the main router is quite far out of reach. I have wired using Ethernet cable to the Zoom X6 router and connected into the LAN1 port to use it as a repeater. The box works great as a repeater and is kicking off a good wifi signal as well as sending internet through Ethernet to another PC.
The problem I have is that it is not password protected on the wifi therefore anyone can connect to it. When I used the router before I could access the settings on 10.0.0.2, however when I do that now in the browser (tried IE and Firefox) it says 'page can't be displayed'. The main router's settings show that the zoom box still has a static IP of 10.0.0.2 but I can't get on the settings to set a password (also be good to change its name from 'zoom'). I contacted Zoom about the issue of setting a password and their reply was simply 'impossible sorry'. I find it hard to believe I can't set a password. I have tried some of the most common IPs with no luck but like I said, it's showing as 10.0.0.2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
Chris
