Hello - my environment:
docsis 3 -> netgear gs108tv2 -> mac, windows, several vms, cisco e3000
Things were happy until we moved. Since the move my mac and e3000 were the only machines that didn't self assign a 169.254/16 address. No other box get an IP. So far I have
- cleared the ip stack on all Windows machines
- confirmed all cables
- played with static / dynamic
- reset the netgear to factory settings.
Since resetting the netgear the cisco e3000 no longer gets a raoutable address either. I can work with static addresses for my servers and infrastructure but like user systems and vm's to use dhcp. I have tried setting all ports on the netgear to 'trust' under services - this not only does not fix the issue but wasn't required beforehand. Again - this doesn't affect my mac but that is the only machine able to get an address - even my other *nix aren't playing nice.
The settings on the netgear are default now - no ACL's or port authority is assigned.
Thoughts? - appreciated
