I use an Acer 5750g and use the WiFi service provided by my university. Once I connect to the university WiFi, it asks for my logon information after which I can use the internet as normal. The WiFi service is provided from 6am to 12:30pm. One night after using the net as normal,I tried logging on the next day and the network shows up as an "unidentified network". I then tried it on my phone (Lumia 820) and I am able to connect it to the internet. I stay on the 8th floor of my hostel. I then went up to my friend's room on the 10th floor and found that I am able to connect the laptop to the WiFi service and browse the net with no problems. When I bought the laptop down to my floor, the network shows up as "unidentified" again.
I tried all possible solutions I could find. I tried resetting tcp/ip
stack & winsock, uninstalled and reinstalled the network adapter(Broadcom 802.11n network adapter), tried restoring the system to an earlier time and even editing registry entries.
I haven't installed any windows updates recently. I use a windows 7 ultimate.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
