Trouble connecting second router LAN to WAN

I currently share a cable internet connection with my neighbours by running an ethernet cable from their main router box, but I want to set up a second Belkin router in my own place. As we're different households I want separate networks, so thought a LAN to WAN connection would be best.

I'm a novice with networking so I looked up instructions, and I've done the following:

The main router is 192.168.0.1, and the secondary router ip is 192.168.2.1.
Both have DCHP enabled

Following Belkin's instructions, I connected an ethernet cable from the main router into the WAN port of my secondary router (ie LAN>WAN). When I plug my computer into the secondary router, it says no connection.

However if I connect the two routers LAN>LAN (ie plugging into an ethernet LAN port on the secondary router), there is internet connection and it works fine. The trouble is the main router is the default gateway, my IP is assigned by the first router, meaning I can't access the secondary router's settings without unplugging it from the main.

I can live with this, but since I have several devices and often share things between them (media, files, printing), I want this done on my own network from my own router. Any ideas how I can get this LAN>WAN working?
