Hi!
Our business rents from a large, shared office building. We have our own wireless network, but internet service provision is handled by the building itself. Currently, our main office space houses a Cisco Linksys router (WRT160N) which seems to be working, but is at least 3 years old. In my office, far down the hall from that router, is a Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP) that seems to be working, and a N600 Netgear Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter (WNDA3100vs) that blinks in and out of service, so we're planning to replace it.
Our technician is not a networking professional, so we have failed to obtain advice about the products that we're using. So! Thought I'd look here for help.
Netgear recommends upgrading the adapter to an A6200 WiFi USB Adapter. I've come across a deal that offers both that model AND a Netgear R6200 WiFi Router bundle.
Is it beneficial to have matching manufacturers' products? (All Netgear rather than Netgear working with Linksys?) Do we even have the right setup for our offices?
Currently there are 2 desktops connected to this network. Soon, there may be a third. We all need to connect to our wireless network (and therefore to our NAS which stores all shared data.)
Please provide some guidance?
Thanks so much!
