I live in a 2-floor apartment, and my wi-fi signal doesn't really reach the upper floor. That sucks because we have a study upstairs.
I figured out that I should get a wi-fi range extender and set it up as instructed. It worked pretty OK for the last nine months or so, but now it's acting up.
On all devices, the extender will show as "connected" but on some devices, internet won't work (on a laptop, you'll see a triangle with an ! on top of the wi-fi bars icon). This happens on laptops, wireless printer, smartphone and tablet, but on and off, and rarely for all devices at the same time. Laptop 1 may work fine while laptop 2 can't get through, or the printer won't work while the tablet will.
Unplugging the extender and plugging it back in again will fix the problem, but only for a few hours.
Does anyone have an idea on how to diagnose this problem?
