Hi All - I was trying to help a friend with a Toshiba L25-S119 laptop running Windows XP. She has an Atheros wireless device in the computer and she accidentally deleted her wireless LAN in Network Connections.
Rebooting / and having Device Mgr Scan for changes brought up the various dialog boxes but none found and reinstalled the driver. It doesn't show in device mgr and didn't at any time after any of these attempts.
I downloaded the driver from toshiba - even though the specs on the Toshiba sight list the Atheros wifi card, the driver was Intel. i figured they know what they're doing but when it was run on friends computer it said could not find hardware and though I click proceed anyway - nothing more shows up on screen from it. Next I pointed the add new hdwe dialog to C:/windows/system32/drivers but it also did not complete an installation.
I have her running sfc now but it seems extreme for the situation. Anyone experience anything similar or have any advice. I would be grateful.
