On a new Lenovo M83 running Windows 8.1 there are warnings and Information events pertaining to e1iexpress:
In trying to figure out what these are because my system can't find the source e1iexpress to display. I've found cases via Google that show these events mean:
Event ID 27: Network link is disconnected.
Event ID 33: Network link has been established at 100Mbps full duplex.
Although I'm not aware of any disconnections.
When I look in Device Manager under Network Adapters I see:
Intel(R) Ethernet Connection l217-LM
When I look for driver on the computer I see two described as follows:
Intel Pro/1000 Adapter NDIS 6 deserialized
Version 9.13.41.1
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nete1e3e.inf_amd64_d144f6352 0d68a10\e1e6032e.sys
C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_nete1e3e.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16384_none_5 31405e120378f9f\e1e6032e.sys
Intel Gigabit Adapter NDIS 6x driver\Version 12.6.47.0
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\e1i63x64.sys
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\net1ic64.inf_amd64_16c3b35c1 bdd7215\ e1i63x64.sys
C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_net1ic64.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16384_none_e 9b563de8428ce1d\e1i63x64.sys
As you can see the first one is not in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder so I'm wondering if this is what's generating those events.
Do I need both of these?
I also saw this in the properties:
Driver Management concluded the process to install driver net1ic64.inf_amd64_16c3b35c1bdd7215\net1ic64.inf for Device Instance ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153A&SUBSYS_309F17AA&REV_04\3&11583659&0&C8 with the following status: 0x0.
Driver Management has concluded the process to add Service e1iexpress for Device Instance ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153A&SUBSYS_309F17AA&REV_04\3&11583659&0&C8 with the following status: 0.
Any thoughts?
