wrt110 connection issue

hello,

I am using at linksys wrt110 router to connect to the internet. I have my desktop wired into the router and everything is fine. when I use my laptop either wireless or wired into the second connection on the router, it takes about 5 minutes to establish a connection. I am not sure what the problem is. I am not that tech smart so I am not sure if there is something that I need to set in the router settings or if there is something that I have to set in the laptop. any help would be appreciated
