Hi there guys,
I have a strange issue with my home network that i just cant figure out. I have 2 PC's connected to my router via network cables. My PC (PC 1) works 100% fine in terms of connecting to the internet via network cable to my router. However, for the other PC (PC 2), whenever one of the network cables is plugged into a 3rd machine not usually on the network, then moved back to PC 2 at a later time, the PC 2 does not detect the router or network. I can see the light is on the router showing the PC 2 has made a connection to it and the cable is working, but I cant dial up to my ISP as the PC 2 doesnt see the network. I have tried uninstalling network drivers and letting windows reinstall them which it does without errors, but PC 2 still it doesnt pick up the network.
Now the strange part is, after frustrating myself for 2 hours reinstalling drivers, physically taking the card out and putting it back etc, then turning off the computer completely for 30 minutes, I started it up again and suddenly it picked up the network and I could connect to the internet on PC 2 no issue.. Then today I put my network cable (pc1) into the 3rd PC, hoping this would cause PC 2 not to lose its network connection, but for some reason putting PC 1 cable into PC 3 cable, caused PC 2 to lose network connection again, so I am back to square one. The network card is a zioncom zc-ln0108 , and I cannot find drivers for this thing anywhere!
If anyone can help me with getting drivers for the card ( i think this may fix the issue), or advise what could be causing PC 2 to lose its network connection when cables are switched around, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks
