Using Dial-up through a computer to another

I recently purchased a Windows 8 Alienware Laptop with USB 3 slots which doesn't seem to work with my older NexxTech Dial-Up Modem. I'm wondering if it's possible to connect to Dial-Up on my Alienware through my old Dell Inspiron (with Windows 7) using an Ethernet cable to connect the 2 PCs. If this is possible or there's another way around it (preferably an easy one since I'm no tech expert) let me know, any help is appreciated, thanks. :P
