Hello everybody.
I have a question that gave me headache for quite some time now. It's about my internet connection speed.
First of all, I'm a mediocre computer user, so please treat me as a 'novice' :)
So, it's like this. I connect to the internet through a USB 3G modem (or 'data stick'). I tested my speed on various speedtest sites. Just now, I tested on speakeasy.net, and it's averaging between 1.5 - 1.8 Mbps. I'm from a developing country, so that speed is considered 'average' :)
When I download something from the net, using IDM, or torrent programs, the speeds are quite satisfying (for me), averaging between 200 - 500 Kbps.
The problem is, when I watch videos, from youtube for example, it's very jittery and laggy. Same thing when I do a video chat/conference chat. The video chats looks like a slow motion of videos, with a lot of 'buffering' stops.
When I click on my connection's status, and looking at the data transfer's numbers, I'm guessing it's around 30 - 60 Kbps. If at that moment I do a speedtest check, I still get quite satisfying results, so I'm guessing, it's not my ISP's speed problem.
My question is, why can't I get full speed when watching videos online, or doing video chats? Are there anything I could do, maybe some tweaking in Windows 7, to fully utilize my internet speed to watch videos online, or do video chats?
Any helps are very appreciated. Sorry for my bad English. Thank you in advance....
