My wife has win 7 on her machine and I have just ordered a PC with win 7 but I also have 2 older systems with win XP home.
The problem is that even though I went in and manually put the workgroup name in (which always allowed file sharing under XP)
The win 7 machine only allows files to be pushed or pulled from it to the XP machine. I can't originate file transfer (to or from) while sitting at my XP machine. Win 7 wanted me to set up a home group of some kind but when I tried its setup for that it could not see the XP machine to include it in the group. So do I need a third party program to allow 2 way file sharing of these computers or is there a way to do this with the tools already available in windows? I don't need anything fancy. I just want to be able to use windows explorer to drag and drop files from one computer to the other from any folders which I have designated to be shared folders.
