Wired connection not working, wireless fine

So this morning, out of nowhere, the wired internet connection on my desktop pc stopped working like normal. I'm 'connected' but every webpage just hangs on loading and occasionally after 10+ minutes I'll get the tiniest fraction of the site loaded. So there is some sort of connection going through but there's obviously a problem.

Wireless works fine on all the other laptops in the house, I've tested other ethernet cables to my desktop pc to no avail and I've tested wired connections from my laptop and they work fine.

I ran a scan for viruses/malware etc 2 days ago and came up clean, but today I ran one and found 3 malware infections. Two were infected registry keys, which seem were infected by PUP.Optional.SilentInstall.A and PUP.Optional.SProtector.A. The third was a infected file 'conetinuetioSaVee/uninstall.exe' which was infected by the above PUP.Optional.SilentInstall.A. They are now quarantined and removed.

I'm guessing my internet problem could have been caused by these infections changing some settings somewhere which took affect after I shut down my desktop last night. Now they are removed, but these settings are still wrong. I'm unable to log into my router from my desktop, it just hangs, but I'm able on my laptops. I'm running Windows 7 and using a Netgear router DGN2000.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm stumped!
