I just bought a new laptop a Lenovo ideapad y500 running windows 8 64bit with a intel centrino wireless adapter and im currently experiencing internet flucuations at random intervals.
My internet speed is rated for 50mbs and when im lucky on wifi ill get up to 20mbs. I could generally live with considering wifi is not exactly ideal but the download speeds will often drop to .5-2mbs and at times go to 0 resetting the connection will sometimes bump it back up for a short while but it will again eventually drop down to minimal speeds.
to save time ill state the troubleshooting methods ive already attempted
uninstalled/reinstalled wifi drivers
updated wifi driver
flushed dns cache via cmd.exe
updated other drivers aswell as performed windows updates
uninstalled and replaced mcafee antivirus with avg
ran ccleaner to uninstall bloatware along with fixing registry errors
accessed my router and changed my wireless settings and security settings
my ping has begun to fluctuate aswell normally being around 8-12ms now jumping from 32-120
id also like to clarify that i bought and returned an asus g75 windows 8 laptop a few days ago encountering the same issue i at first thought it was the wireless adapter but now encountering this issue im beginning to question my router which is an actiontec v1000h
