I am working on one of the laptops that works. I have the Netgear44 as my router and Belkins as my extender. First of all have 3 computers that work off the Netgear44. Only 2 are working now. The one that is not working is an HP using Vista 64 bit. Getting unidentified Network.
I have tried these steps:
1) Clicked on start
2) Double clicked control panel
3) Double clicked Network Sharing
4) Clicked on Network Setting
5) Double clicked manage Network connections
6) Double clicked wireless network connection
7) Clicked Properties
8) Clicked on internet Protocol Version 4(TCP)IP v4
9) Clicked install
10) Clicked Protocol and Add
There is nothing in my network protocol to add. There is nothing in the 6(TCP) either. Looking at my other laptop the one I'm on now has: Reliable Multicast Protocol.
Have been searching and done everything that I can find and nothing works. Found this web site and not sure if I should try this. The web site is:
http://www.speedupnew.com/speed-up-internet/connection-properties.html#connection-properties-details
If you have better advice I would be appreciative. I also noticed that I'm connected using Atheros AR5007 802 .1 1b/g Wifi adapter. On another I have Realtek RTL8187SE Wireless Lan PCIE Adapter network.
