Unable to work

Hello everyone,
I work from home as a medical transcriptionist. The company I work for downloaded a program on my computer when I started working for them about a year and a half ago. Two weeks ago I had a storm knock out my internet connection. The connection was fixed the day after the storm and ever since I have not been able to use my transcription program. I can sign in but when downloading jobs it will occasionally let short voice files download completely but not longer ones. The company has reinstalled my program and that didn't work, my internet company changed my modem and checked all other connections into the house and that's not the problem, the program runs on Java so I uninstalled that and reinstalled and that is not the problem. What's even more bizarre is when I take this computer to my parent's house to work it works just fine; which makes me think it has to be the internet somehow. I have been in contact with my internet provider and because I am able to do everything else online they don't see how it can be my service. I have bypassed by router by plugging directly into the modem and that doesn't fix it. Also, I am getting faster speeds at my house than at my parent's house so it can't be the speeds I am getting here. I have disabled my firewall and tried to download thinking my firewall was blocking the large files and that's not the case. I also disabled virus protection to try it and that did nothing. I was able though to download Adobe without any trouble so my internet and computer seem to download large files that are not my work files just fine.

I am really at the end of my rope here. Any and all ideas are welcome. I have not worked in 2 weeks now and fear I may lose my job if I can't resolve this quickly.
