I have had problems connecting to the internet for about a week. This is not the first time I have had this problem - see this previous forum thread from a few months ago. The first time this occurred, back in May, I was able to fix it by removing McAfee from my computer. After that, everything worked fine for a couple of months.
A week ago, suddenly, my internet connection became spotty again. It would work for several hours, then not work for several hours. This went on until yesterday, when it stopped working completely. Even though I am able to connect to the router (though it usually takes several tries), I cannot gain internet access.
I tried a system restore, but nothing changed. I have tried resetting the router and modem multiple times. I can sometimes get access when I log on in safe mode with networking.
I have an HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC, running Windows 7 home premium.
