Hi All,
I'm trying to setup a webcam to be visible on the internet which is behind a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580 and a Netgear R6250 AC router. IP Addresses are 192.168.0.1 for the Motorola and 192.168.1.1 for the Netgear R6250. So, coax to Motorola, ethernet cable from port 1 on the motorola to WAN port on the Netgear, then a ethernet cable from the Netgear to the webcamera and one to my PC.
I know I need to forward ports, and I've done that using one router. What is tripping me up is the fact I have two devices that are routing. What is the best way to do this? Should I set the Motorola to put the Netgear in the DMZ?
I've heard about how I need to set a static IP for the Netgear to have it work for the surfobard, but when I go to the LAN setup page and try to put in an IP Address of 192.168.0.XX to match for the Surfobard I get an error "The IP Address conflicts with the WAN subnet. Please enter a different IP Address".
I've looked online, and there appears to be a lot of different answers. Trying to find the easier and simpliest one.
Any help here is appreciated very much.
