Ipad with high ping

I have an ipad air 2 with wifi speeds of about 30 download and 5 upload, but then there is my ping, I get about a ping of 30 with a top of the line router and brand new modem that supports up to 300 mbdps download. Is there any way to lower it?
PS I also get 30ping on my laptop
