For some reason I can no longer get a wireless connection. I was having problems booting into windows and got that problem solved, but then I discovered I could not get a wireless connection anymore no matter what I tried.
I did a search on this problem and there are tons of people with this problem of being stuck at acquiring network address and going no further. I have tried everything I saw suggested.
I went into the cmd prompt and did and ipconfig /flushdns ... ipconfig /release ... and ipconfig /renew and that didn't work.
I use the run feature and use the service msc and made sure automatic was selected in the NLA.
I checked the TCP/IP and made sure that was set for automatic.
I tried disabling and enabling the wireless connection.
I tried the repair option, but it just gets stuck at acquiring network address.
I tried to unplug the modem and router, waited over 60 sec. pluggled the modem first wait for it to come on completely then the router then tried the cmd prompt using those ipconfig commands I mention earlier.
I tried to reinstall the driver for the wireless network adapter. I checked the device manager and it states that the adapter is working properly. I can see the LED light flashing as it usually does.
Here is some of the info I got from the ipconfig ...
Physical address: 00-E0-55-00-01-61
DHCP Enabled ................. Yes
Autoconfig Enabled .......... Yes
IP Address ....................... 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask .................... 0.0.0.0
DHCP Server .................... 255.255.255.255
DNS Server ...................... 156.154.70.22
156.154.71.22
IP Routing Enabled ............ No
WINS Proxy Enabled ......... No
I have done so many different things I can't remember them all.
I am using my XP machine. I hope I have given enough information if not, let me know.
