A coffee shop has a small network, with three computers for their customers, wireless access for their customers, and five computers in their office. Currently, everything is on the same network, which involves a hub, wires trailing across the floor, and a wireless access point. Employees often use the wireless accesses for business purposes. Explore ways for the coffee shop to improve their security. Explain to the owners why subnetting would be helpful, and demonstrate how you would subnet their network. Explore ways of dividing the public and private parts of the networks. What network design or designs would be appropriate for the coffee shop?
Any ideas? on network topology? Any help would be appreciated. I was thinking just using a business class router and having two subnets, one for public wifi AP and one for private use for employees and POS.
