Hey guys,
I've been having some major trouble out of my internet and I'm considering switching back to my old ISP. About two and a half weeks ago I made the switch from DSL to Cable internet. Since the switch, I've had nothing but issues. Every now and again, my internet will drop to "local only" and the error messages I'm shown are:
1) Cannot Connect with Primary DNS Server
2) Problem with Domain Name Server configuration
I get these error messages on both a wired connection and wireless connection. When the connection drops on wifi, every device connected to it can't access the internet until it randomly comes back online. It usually takes about a minute or two and then everyone is able to use the internet again.
I've contacted my new ISP several times regarding this issue and I've had no luck. At first I found out that I wasn't getting the speed I'm paying for (I'm paying for about 60-65 mbps) even on a wired connection, and this was the same on all the devices in the house. We've switched out the modem and there was still no improvement and finally their tech support was able to send someone out and I was told that there's a problem in my neighborhood. After all that was settled and things were repaired, my internet speed is up to where it needs to be but I'm still dropping to "local only".
I'd also like to note that this issue has only started to happen when I made the switch from DSL to Cable. Before this switch, everything worked like it should. I've updated the drivers on my wireless and wired devices, going as far as to use a USB dongle in hopes that it would fix the issue. I've also updated my router firmware and my modem has been replaced twice now. As I've said earlier as well, I've moved from a wireless to wired connection straight to the modem and the problem is still there.
I'm not sure what else to do, guys. Please help me. x_x
