Atheros AR9485-WB EG Replace in Asus N750JV

I'm considering replacement of the AR9485 card in my laptop with a dual band card, maybe something like this - Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 Plus Bluetooth. Access to the card is good. I would prefer doing this than adding a USB Adapter, which apparently could require some BIOS change(s) ie: Asus USB AC56.
I'm looking for some advice and a recommendation.
- Are there any cautions I should consider before doing this. Basically is it a hardware plug and play type of change?
- Can you recommend a dual band card to use?
