Hi,
This past Fall I was given a brand new laptop* by my employer so that I could work remotely from home. When I first brought it home and connected to my wifi, everything worked normally. It connected right away and I had no problems whatsoever. There was never any wait time for it to connect when I'd turn on, nothing; it was perfect.
After about a week, my employer had me bring the laptop to his home office to work. There I had connectivity issues (not really issues as I explain next). I didn't want to say anything to him at the time, because I didn't want to embarrass him, but all I needed to connect was the wireless password from the bottom of his router, and he didn't know what the laptop was talking about when it prompted him for a password. I asked him what his password was and he said he didn't know. For some reason he thought that it should connect without a password (no idea why he thought this!!) so he told me to leave the laptop with him and he would fiddle with it. So I left it with him and he "fiddled" with it; I have no idea what he did, but he thought he had solved the problem - he didn't, it still required a password to connect.
Anyway, after that, I brought the laptop back home and ever since then, about 70% of time when I turn the laptop on (whether it's from a complete shut down, hibernate, sleep, etc) it shuts off the wi-fi in my ENTIRE house. NOTHING has internet; the laptop, my phone, tablets, other laptops, nothing. I have to unplug my router for about 20 seconds and then plug it back in. That usually works, but sometimes I have to do it a few times.
And every time I turn the laptop on, it takes about 20-30 seconds to connect to the internet, where all my other devices are just connected immediately. And this laptop used to be like that too until my boss messed with it.
Sometimes it does connect and it doesn't shut the internet down, but like I said, even when it does that it still takes 20-30 seconds to connect, and while it's doing that I CANNOT try and use anything that requires Wi-Fi or else it WILL shut the wi-fi off.

Please help!! My family is getting really sick of my laptop kicking them offline!!
