Unable to establish a connection using Teamviewer

I'm trying to set up a Teamviewer 8 connection on a Windows 7 PC. The PC is connected to a LAN but is not part of the domain. I'm using a proxy server authenticated with a domain user who has remote access permissions (to get through the network firewall).
The PC is logged on as a local user with administrator rights, but with no password. Windows firewall is disabled.

When I open Teamviewer it tries to connect but I keep getting this error message: Not ready. Please check your connection.

It says my proxy settings may be incorrect, but the same settings have previously been used successfully on other PCs. Also this PC is using the same proxy server to connect to the internet.

Does anybody have any suggestions?
