Router Recommendations/Advice

I have what I think is a demanding home network. On this network I am running an Alienware Gaming computer with online gaming, 2 xbox ones running together most of the time, an xbox 360, Directv with on demand video streaming, 3 smart tvs with Netflix, hulu etc, smart blu ray player, 1 tablet, 3 smart phones and anything else I am forgetting to list. I do have DSL internet provided through Time Warner Cable with their Road Runner service. I even pay for the top level signal which is up to 50mbps. Just tested my signal and got 56.39mbps download and 5.63mbps upload which I do get quite often. Signal is great. I think the weak link in the chain is the router. I have always wanted to buy my own router to save on their monthly charges for "renting" the one they provided me but also to get the most out of my top signal I'm paying for.
I have read a lot of router recommendations but of course every website has their own agenda and need to sell their products. What I am looking for is people out there that know what all those confusing specifications mean and can boil it down to the basics for me. I'm prepared to spend $200-$300 for a GREAT router but have read where some people spend too much for power they don't need. I don't even mind spending a little bit more if I know everything will run properly.
PLEASE someone help me out and advise me on a GREAT router. something to handle all my needs and not have buyers remorse once I plug it in and see it in action. as it is now I cant stream video unless its hardwired into my main router which is only one xbox one and my PC. I have tried boosters and extenders and both at once but nothing is allowing me to watch a movie without waiting every 3 minutes for more to download.
Thank you for taking the time to read this
