Additional info on my machine:

Background:
  • I was surfing yesterday when all the sudden my connection dropped. I have never been able to reconnect since then (see attachment "Network" for current state).
  • Interestingly enough, all my other devices connected to the same network continue to work perfectly fine (2 phones, 1 tablet). Only the PC seems to refuse to connect.
  • Prior to this issue, all 4 devices were connected on the same network for 2+ years without any problems at all.

What did I try?
Pretty much everything that I could think off and found on internet, including:
  • Check that the password I entered was correct
  • Reboot computer / modem
  • Deactivate / reactivate all possible configurations of network cards
  • Uninstall / reinstall Wireless LAN Card drivers (including newer versions of the drivers)
  • Update motherboard / chipset drivers
  • Virus and malware scans with AVG anti-virus
  • System restore to time when internet worked
  • Clean format and reinstall of Windows 7 (incl. new partitioning)
  • Deleting the wireless profiles under Start> control Panel> classic view> network and sharing center> manage wireless networks
  • Run Windows built in diagnostics tool before and after reinstall. The result is always the same: "Problem with wireless adapter or access point - not fixed"
  • Deactivate Windows built-in firewall (I do not have any other firewall or anti-virus installed, AVG has been removed after scanning the whole computer)
  • ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew
  • flushdns
  • Set a static IP, gateway, DNS etc.
  • Install Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and run diagnostics
Where I'm stuck now?

Everytime I double-click on my network, windows requests for my network password. I enter it and the message "Windows was unable to connect to dvr-12556" pop-up comes immediately.

Interesting (unexplained even after all I did) facts:

1. Wireless profiles:

I do not see any wireless profiles under Start> control Panel> classic view> network and sharing center> manage wireless networks.

2. ipconfig results:

3. ipconfig CMD results:

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
  • Successfully reset the Winsock Catalog.
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
  • Reseting Global, OK!
  • Reseting Interface, OK!
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
  • There's no user specified settings to be reset

4. Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector diagnostics results:

See attachment "Xirrus"

5. Current Wireless card settings (after I tried everything):

See several attachments "Wireless card"

Conclusion:

It seems the problem is coming from the fact that my DNS / IP adress is missing, but I feel I have tried everything to fix it without success. Any idea ?

Thanks !!
