I don't know much about a tablet, but an elderly friend living in a local retirement village has one with Verizon. She doesn't much more than the ability to get on her gmail account. Now she was told at Staples that she can connect a canon pixma wi fi printer. I went over and set it up for her but she has no internet access other than that. It picked up about 10 wi fi connections around her but of course they are all password protected. She says there is no central one for the village residents. Now she just called and said she has talked with someone from canon and they told her she just needs a router. I'm sure that won't help in this situation but she insists they say it will. Just in case I am not well informed on this I told her I would post on the tech website and see what advice I am given here.
Thanks to anyone that will give me pointers if need be. If I am right that she needs her own internet connection other than Verizon, I will show this to her. She has already talked to a lady at Verizon and apparently was told she can't do it with this tablet unless she has another form of internet connection. Thanks in advance.
