Very similar problem. I am at a clinic, and cannot connect two windoze laptops to this wep-"encrypted" wifi. One is XP pro sp3 the other is fresh out of the box win 8. Two samsung phones and an ipad connect fine with no wanking about, just enter pw and bang. Both laptops go into "detecting network type" and then report not being able to connect. already set as wep infrastructure, why is it detecting? appears that the router (2net, pretty new, 26 hex chars pw) is not responding, either that or it's sending something the computer's not ready for. both laptops re toshiba, fwiw. the clinic doesn't want to change the encryption type, so i have to figure out how to connect. any ideas?
