Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. My details are as follows:
Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II P360 Dual-Core Processor, AMD64 Family 16 Model 6 Stepping 3
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 3835 Mb
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250, 336 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 461838 MB, Free - 202599 MB;
Motherboard: Dell Inc., 0WTVYR
Antivirus: McAfee Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware, Updated and Enabled
I have spent the last 6 months on & off trying to fix this problem. I cannot print from my laptop! Everything has been tried & the whole internet searched & all solutions tried.
I have a home wireless network with a modern Sky router. Connected to this is the following: this & one other laptop, 3 ipods, 1 ipad & 1 iphone, 1 Android phone, 1 Kindle Fire HD, 1 Android tablet, Sonos Bridge, WD Mycloud NAS unit & the infamous HP Photosmart c7280 all in one printer / scanner. All work perfectly, all devices can print except my Dell Inspiron lap top.
I can see the printer, status fine, & un-installed & re-installed many times, recently even updating the windows drivers too. I can ping the printer from the laptop & from within the router settings & get the usual reply straight back from both. Whenever I print anything it appears as usual in the queue, goes nowhere & then finally "error printing..." I have also stopped & re-started the print spooler in Services, but still nothing.
The network router has been re-booted several times & is up to date with updates. Even the Microsoft Troubleshooter says everthing is fine. What's most annoying though is other devices can print with no problem. At some stage I recall the printer was being shown as offline, but no offline options "ticked". The printer is currently shown as ready - but still does not print.
Am I missing the obvious, is there something that I have not tried?
All suggestions welcome - thank you.
