So hey guys. This is an internet connection problem, and a weird one. I never had this problem until two months ago, when it happened out of the blue. It used to happen about once every few weeks, and I'd just shut my laptop off and the next day it'd be fine, but it started happening every few hours from Thursday onwards.
I'd boot up my laptop, it'd connect to the internet, no problem. About an hour or two later, the network disconnects. I'd try to reconnect, but it is either
-Can't connect to the network
-Shows limited network while connecting, mouse over shows "identifying.. network access"
-Looks connected while connecting
But when I try to load any page, the network disconnects immediately. I wouldn't be able to use my network at all, and restarting my modem fixes the problem for about two hours, then I'd have to restart it again. I doubt it's the problem with my modem, I can connect my phone and tablet without problem.
One thing to note here is that this happens when my roommate is on his Mac. This problem never happens while he is not using it, but last week he just lost his job and has been on his Mac everyday and the problem just happens.
Amateur things I've tried/things to note:
-Winsock Reset
-Definitely troubleshooters (which didn't do anything)
-Tcp/ip reset (I get access denied, so I don't think it worked)
-Ran malwarebytes and cleared all malwares
-Booted in safe mode with networking to make sure it's not malwares
-A quick ipconfig /all turns up everything as media disconnected.
-No Antivirus installed. Had AVG, uninstalled it just now to make sure and nope, not that problem.
-Driver up to date.
-My laptop does not appear to have an ethernet cable port, so I have never tried directly plugging it.
Today the network repeatedly disconnects and reconnect even as I am typing this, which lead me to post it here because... it's frustrating. Really. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
