printing locally on win 7 to xp over rdp?

hi guys,

pretty sure i was able to do this from 7 to 7 over rdp fairly easy...
im trying to rdp to an xp box and print out at my local 7 computer...
but there is no redirection printer coming up in my local printers on the xp machine despite printers being checked under
resources on the rdp settings for that connection.
i tried google but all instances seemed different to what i was trying to accomplish
do i have to install the printer as a local on my xp?
can anybody just outline the procedure of what i would have to do to get this working in this instance
