I have unearthed a old boxed coil of unused BELDEN twisted-pair Ethernet cable. Given its age (late 1990s), I guess that its not Cat5e, but I'm wondering if it is only perhaps Cat3 rather than Cat5?
Box label says CK708721, but that seems not to throw up anything on the web. Cable is 22AWG and has M8723 and E1 08998 markings. BELDEN seem still to produce '8723' cables, but I can't find any reference to Cat 3 or Cat 5 etc in their specs.
Does anyone have any idea what this might be please? I want to wire up some Ethernet ports in my house and it would be a shame to buy new cable if this would do!
