Hello,
Over the past few days I have experienced problems with my wireless internet. I will first describe the symptoms and my setup, and then try to tell you what I have tried.
Symptoms:
- Intermittent/slow connection
- Many "Server not found" or DNS errors when trying to surf
- Problems downloading from the web (very slow/impossible)
Setup:
- I use the wireless from my landlord downstairs so don't have direct access to the router, but room mates report no problems.
- I ran the diagnostics included with Lenovo and I fail the Internet Communication Text
- The strength and signal from the wireless is showing up, and showing up as connected
My System:
Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Processor: AMD E-350 Processor, AMD64 Family 20 Model 1 Stepping 0
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 3688 Mb
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics, 384 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 294042 MB, Free - 106923 MB; Q: Total - 9999 MB, Free - 2433 MB;
Motherboard: LENOVO, 05962RU
Antivirus: avast! Antivirus, Updated and Enabled
What I have tried:
- Cleared cache, restarted, rebooted
- I have run two malware scans (SpyBot and Malwarebyte)
- I have run an ipconfig but can't seem to copy the results here (can't select - help?)
- Checked Resource levels in Task Manager (seemed fine)
- Made sure "automatically" is selected for TCP/IP DNS stuff
Any help you can offer will be MOST appreciated. I'm in a bit of a bind!
